Rites of Passage Outline of Lessons and Focus



Lesson One:

What is manhood? A 300 word essay written from the young person’s perspective.


Lesson Two:

What will you do? In this lesson, the facilitator can tailor the questions to fit the needs of the young person. For example: What will you do if one of your peers, that you deeply admire, offers you to take a drag on a joint or do a line of cocaine or puff on a cigarette?


Lesson Three:

What is womanhood? An essay of no less than 500 words and no more than 1000 words and the young person is required to interview 5 women, 2 of which are selected by the facilitator.
